This may be particular to my usage patterns, but I found that ~/.local/share/uv/python/.temp was using a lot of disk space on my machine:
ubuntu@ip-172-16-0-59:~/.local/share$ du -sh uv/python
2.1G uv/python
ubuntu@ip-172-16-0-59:~/.local/share$ du -sh uv/python/.temp
1.2G uv/python/.temp
I feel like something should clean this up, either a subsequent command that installs Python that can detect that a previous aborted run left something behind, or uv clean, but uv clean only cleans the cache directory.
Actually I guess the ideal thing is for the partly-written files not to be left on disk (unless they're going to be used by a subsequent install to resume the download), if possible. I suspect that I might have gotten here by being close to out of disk space in a way which caused installs to fail, or by hitting Ctrl-C on automatic Python downloads.

fix(python): allow managed python temp_dir to clean up on drop (#20752)

We fixed one of the problems in #20752, but I don't think that's the specific one reported here.
