app.aewpatrimoine.com - Password field shows the password characters #114591
Browser / Version: Firefox 107.0 Operating System: Windows 10 Tested Another Browser: Yes Opera
Problem type: Something else Description: the password is not masked with Firefox Steps to Reproduce:
the password was masked with Opera and Edge, but not masked with Firefox
changed the title [-]app.aewpatrimoine.com - see bug description[/-][+]app.aewpatrimoine.com - Password field shows the password characters[/+]on Nov 24, 2022
The standards-compliant way to do this would be for the page to add type="password" to the input field, and honestly it's pretty weird that they aren't doing that. We can probably ship an intervention to change the field's type, but it's unclear whether it's worth the effort.
Since making an intervention for this is unlikely to be easy, and we're working on a patch in the bugzilla bug, let's close this as a dupe of that bug.

This is a case of

They're using this CSS on the input, which is non-standard, but Chrome inherited from WebKit:
I've filed https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1826629 to consider if we should support this for webcompat.

If all goes well, a fix for this should be in Firefox 114.
