2012 Radical SR8 RX

This 2012 Radical SR8 RX is a left-hand-drive example that is powered by a Powertec RPA 2.7-liter V8 that drives the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox with an integral limited-slip differential, and the car was optioned with a pneumatic, paddle-activated gear-shift system with auto-blip. An upgraded Wisko Racing clutch assembly has been installed, and other details include an air-jack system, staggered-diameter black center-lock wheels, a cabin-mounted brake-bias adjuster, a Nik-Link suspension system, and Intrax Racing triple-adjustment titanium shocks. Finished in Spice Yellow, the car features fiberglass bodywork, a 77-liter (~20-gallon) fuel tank, a vented hood, dive planes, a carbon-fiber rear wing, headlights, taillights, and air jacks. The cockpit houses twin racing buckets that have black inserts and OMP harnesses in addition to a communication system, fire-suppression system, a lap timer, a data logger, and an adjustable pedal box. Acquired by the current owner in March 2020, this SR8 RX is now offered in Connecticut by the seller with an SCCA log book, a build sheet, and a bill of sale.

The SR8 RX features a powder-coated carbon-steel spaceframe and an integral FIA-approved safety cage. The fiberglass bodywork is finished in Spice Yellow (3754) with a racing livery, and the car is further outfitted with headlights, taillights, a vented hood, dive planes, forward-facing roll-bar stays, a carbon-fiber rear wing, and side-impact pods. The rear engine cover, wing, and diffuser have been replaced.

Black 15″ front and 16″ rear center-lock wheels are mounted with Hankook tires. The car rides on a fully adjustable Nik-Link suspension with Intrax Racing triple-adjustment titanium shocks. Braking incorporates Radical-branded calipers over 300mm floating discs as well as brake pressure monitoring sensors. The car is equipped with an air jack system.

The left-hand-drive cockpit features twin racing bucket seats that have black inserts and are equipped with OMP safety harnesses. The interior also features a wrap-around headrest for the driver, a brake-bias control knob, air-jack system, communication system, and fire-suppression system in addition to a lap timer, a data logger, a reverse-gear engagement lever, an electrical cut-off switch, and an adjustable pedal box.

The quick-release steering wheel is equipped with shift paddles, and the centrally mounted AiM MXL digital display includes a 10k-rpm tachometer and auxiliary readouts. The seller highlights that the engine revs to 11k rpm with a 10.5k redline. Runtime data taken from the car’s computer is shown in the gallery below.

The Powertec RPX 2.7-liter V8 is equipped with fuel injection and dry-sump lubrication and was factory rated at 430 horsepower. The car is also equipped with a 77-liter (~20-gallon) fuel tank, and the seller reports that fluids and filters were changed in preparation for the sale.
