F1 Slipstream Sculpture by Richard Pietruska

This sculpture, Slipstream, was designed to convey a sense of motion as inspired by F1 cars. It was hand-formed in fiberglass by Richard Pietruska and is said to be one of two castings completed before the mold was destroyed. The piece measures approximately 60″ long by 12″ wide by 6″ tall and was painted using automotive-grade products in a bright-red finish that fades to dark red. It is mounted on a banked brushed-aluminum base to enhance the sense of forward motion. This Slipstream artist’s proof is now offered by the seller on behalf of the artist at no reserve in Los Angeles, California.

Richard Pietruska holds a Bachelor of Science in Transportation Design and a Master of Fine Arts in Art from ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California, where he has taught for more than 50 years. He has been a member of the Automotive Fine Arts Society (AFAS) since 1996 and has received the Peter Helck Award for three consecutive years, along with multiple Athena Awards of Excellence at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Pietruska’s automotive sculptures have been featured in publications including Road & Track, Automobile Magazine, and Robb Report, and his pieces are held in private collections and automotive museums around the world.
