refactor(javascript): type the syntax printer's nodes, walkers and compressor - #22725
Conversation
…mpressor Replace EXPECTED_ANY in lib/javascript/syntax-printer.js (434 -> 78) with precise types: terser's node fields, walkers, compressor, output stream, ESTree conversion, source maps and the minify driver. New types are @internal, so types.d.ts keeps main's public signatures.

Summary
Follow-up to #22719, which did the same for the parser: precise types in
lib/javascript/syntax-printer.js, so the coming rewrite has the type checker to catch mistakes.EXPECTED_ANYinsyntax-printer.jsWhat's left: 39 values terser's
evaluatecomputes or reads off built-ins (can be anything), 28 in public typedefs kept as onmain, 11 caller option bags passed through.New types (nodes, walkers, compressor, output stream, ESTree conversion, source maps, the minify driver) are
@internal, sotypes.d.tsis unchanged. Runtime is unchanged: only JSDoc and casts; ~25 single-statement bodies gained braces where a cast wrapped the line. Casts throughunknown(64 vs 56 onmain) are left for a separate pass acrosslib/.What kind of change does this PR introduce?
refactor
Did you add tests for your changes?
No, types only; existing printer, minifier and scope-analyzer tests pass, and
lint:typeschecks the new types.Does this PR introduce a breaking change?
No;
types.d.tsis identical tomain.If relevant, what needs to be documented once your changes are merged or what have you already documented?

Claude Code wrote the types and ran lint and tests; I directed the approach (ESTree-aligned, internal-only types) and reviewed the result.
