1972 Chevrolet K20 Cheyenne Super Pickup 4×4

This 1972 Chevrolet K20 Cheyenne Super 4×4 pickup was refurbished and modified under prior ownership, at which time the bed, tailgate, windshield and rear sliding window were replaced and the body was re-painted in green and white. The truck is powered by a 350ci V8 linked to a three-speed automatic transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a 14-bolt full-floating rear axle that was installed in 2025. The seller purchased the truck on BaT in July 2024, and subsequent work included installing four-wheel disc brakes, refreshing the suspension with Skyjacker components, rebuilding the transmission, resealing and painting the transfer case and transmission, relocating the fuel tank, and installing a RetroSound Bluetooth head unit with Morel speakers and JL Audio subwoofers, DSP, and amps. The truck is also equipped with a Summit Racing camshaft, 17″ KMC alloy wheels, a receiver hitch, and amber clearance lights. This K20 is now offered with a build sheet, recent service records, the removed rear window, car cover, and a clean California commercial title in the seller’s name.

The body underwent rust and body repairs and received a replacement bed, fenders, and tailgate prior to a repaint in green and white under prior ownership. The left taillight housing is mounted on a hinged frame to conceal a fuel filler, and work under current ownership included replacing the grille, taillights, and windshield and door seals. Additional equipment includes a receiver hitch, chrome bumpers, and amber clearance lights. Paint meter readings are presented in the gallery below.

The 17″ KMC alloy wheels are wrapped in 35×12.50″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires that were mounted in preparation for the sale. The suspension and brakes were all replaced at the end of 2025 with a 6″ Skyjacker suspension lift, rear lift blocks, and four-wheel discs. The brake master cylinder, proportioning valve, brake lines, parking brake cable, and ball joints were replaced. The seller notes the power steering system drips fluid.

The heated bench seat was upholstered in green vinyl and houndstooth cloth under prior ownership, at which time the dash pad, woodgrain trim, and carpets were replaced. The glovebox trim was replaced, and floor mats were added along with a RetroSound Bluetooth head unit installed in 2024 along with Morel speakers and JL Audio components including amplifiers, DSP, and three 10″ subwoofers. The fan speed lever is missing.

The replacement two-spoke steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer and supplementary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 30k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 350ci V8 was fitted with a Summit Racing camshaft, and a replacement dual exhaust system was installed under prior ownership. Work since 2024 included relocating the fuel tank to beneath the bed with a replacement fuel pump and lines, as well as installing a 170-amp alternator, replacing the radiator, engine mounts, oil pan gasket, and battery.

Power is routed to all four wheels through a three-speed Turbo Hydramatic automatic transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a 14-bolt full-floating rear axle assembly with 4.10:1 gearing that was installed in 2025. Additional work under current ownership included replacing the torque converter and transmission, replacing the transmission housing, transmission lines, transmission oil pan filter and gasket, rebuilding and painting the front axle including flat topping the knuckles for future cross over steering, resealing and painting the transfer case, replacing the universal joints.
