46-Years-Family-Owned 1978 Chevrolet C10 Custom Deluxe Big 10

This 1978 Chevrolet C10 is a Custom Deluxe pickup that was purchased in 1980 by the seller’s father, who occasionally used it to tow hay and livestock trailers. It remained under his care until it was acquired in 1999 by the seller, who has driven a majority of the 24k miles shown. It was ordered with a “Big 10″ F44 heavy-duty chassis, and power is provided by a 350ci V8 that drives the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Finished in Mahogany over red vinyl and plaid cloth, the truck is further appointed with glasspack mufflers, dual fuel tanks, a receiver hitch, aftermarket running boards, 15” steel wheels, a trailer brake controller, and cruise control. This C10 is now offered with the owner’s manual, service records, and a Minnesota title in the seller’s name.

The truck is finished in Mahogany (76) with Big 10 bedside decals, and further exterior details include a Fleetside bed, a front wind deflector, a receiver hitch with a tow ball, a sliding rear window, a rear step bumper, aftermarket running boards, and stainless steel camper mirrors. Option code F44 specified a heavy-duty chassis, also referred to as “Big 10″ models, and it received an independent front suspension and heavy-duty front coil and rear leaf springs. The white-painted 15” steel wheels are mounted with Starfire tires. A full-size spare is located in the bed. The truck is further appointed with power steering. Braking is provided by front discs and rear drums. Work within the last 2k miles has included replacing all four tires, servicing the rear drums, and replacing the rear wheel cylinders.

The cabin features a bench seat upholstered in red vinyl with plaid cloth inserts, and it has an aftermarket multi-color cover. Other interior appointments include an aftermarket trailer brake controller, a Delco push-button AM/FM stereo, and cruise control. The air-conditioning system should be recharged and checked for leaks, per the seller.

The two-spoke steering wheel wears an aftermarket wrap and frames a 100-mph speedometer along with gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit odometer shows 24k miles, approximately 21k of which were added under current ownership.

The truck is powered by a 350ci V8 that was fitted from the factory with a four-barrel carburetor. The truck is equipped with dual fuel tanks. The battery was replaced in May 2026.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The truck is equipped with an aftermarket dual exhaust system that utilizes glasspack mufflers. The fuel tank cover is scraped.
