1979 Chevrolet K5 Blazer Cheyenne 4×4

This 1979 Chevrolet K5 Blazer Cheyenne is said to have remained in California until 2023, and it wears an older repaint in two-tone blue and white over blue vinyl. Power is provided by a 400ci V8 linked to a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. It is equipped with 15″ polished alloy wheels, front disc brakes, a 2″ suspension lift, a removable hardtop, front bucket seats, a Sony head unit, cruise control, power windows, and air conditioning. This K5 Blazer is now offered by the selling dealer with manufacturer’s literature and an Illinois title.

The truck was repainted in two-tone blue and white under previous ownership, and it has a white removable fiberglass hardtop, a power tailgate window, folding side mirrors, and tubular side steps. Damage to the right rocker panel is shown up close in the gallery.

The 15″ polished alloy wheels are mounted with Cooper Discoverer STT Pro tires. The truck has been fitted with a 2″ suspension lift, and stopping power is provided by front discs and rear drums. 

The cabin features front bucket seats and a folding rear bench trimmed in blue vinyl, and features include a Sony head unit, Sony RM-X4S Rotary Commander, cruise control, power windows, power locks, and air conditioning.

The steering wheel is mounted on a tilting column. It frames a 100-mph speedometer and an optional 5k-rpm tachometer as well as auxiliary gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and amperage. The five-digit odometer indicates 30k miles.

The 400ci V8 was factory rated at 185 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. A tune-up and oil change were performed, and the batteries and the AC system lines were replaced.

Power is sent through a three-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. A transmission fluid flush was performed in preparation for the sale, per the selling dealer.
