No Reserve: 1990 Jeep Wrangler 4.2

This 1990 Jeep Wrangler was purchased in 2024 by the seller, who performed a refurbishment that is said to total approximately $10k and was completed in the spring of 2026. It included glass-blasting various body and underside components, performing rust repairs, replacing body panels, carrying out a repaint in Superior Blue Metallic, and fitting Hushmat sound-deadening material and replacement carpeting to the interior. Multiple fuel and cooling system items for the 4.2-liter inline-six were also replaced at that time along with servicing the three-speed automatic transmission and dual-range transfer case. The truck rides on 15″ five-spoke alloy wheels, and further details include a gray hardtop, Rough Country tubular bumpers, a Kenwood stereo, and Rough Country seat covers. Now showing 93k miles, this YJ Wrangler is offered at no reserve with removed parts, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Iowa title in the seller’s name.

The truck was finished from the factory in Navy Blue Metallic, and under current ownership, the hood, tailgate, and doors were disassembled and glass-blasted prior to primer being applied. Then, the remaining body panels were sanded and primed before the bodywork was repainted, reportedly in GM Superior Blue Metallic (WA703J). The left quarter panel, rear-left fuel filler area panel, windshield and its frame, headlights, front fenders, inner front fenders, fender flares, and various seals, latches, and hinges were also replaced at that time. Exterior equipment includes a gray hardtop, a receiver hitch, and Rough Country tubular bumpers. The removed bumpers have been powder-coated, and they are included in the sale. Photographs taken during the work are shown in the gallery below.

The 15″ five-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with 235/75 Goodyear Wrangler Radial tires that were installed under current ownership, at which time the skid plate was glass-blasted and powder-coated and braking components were replaced. A full-size spare is mounted to the rear carrier, which has been powder-coated in black.

During the refurbishment, interior components were removed, Hushmat sound-deadening material was applied, replacement gray carpets were installed, and the heater core, heater hoses, seatbelts, and door sill guards were replaced. The high-back front bucket seats and folding rear bench are trimmed in cloth and have Rough Country covers. Other interior details include a Bluetooth-capable Kenwood stereo, Jeep-branded rubber floor mats, and a roll bar.

The three-spoke steering wheel wears an aftermarket Jeep-branded cover, and instrumentation includes a 7k-rpm tachometer, a 100-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and voltage. The six-digit odometer shows 93k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership.

The carbureted 4.2-liter inline-six was factory rated at 112 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. A cast-iron valve cover was fitted during the refurbishment, and components replaced at that time include the fuel tank, fuel sending unit, radiator, water pump, thermostat, air cleaner assembly, oil pan, oil temperature sender, alternator, a drive belt, and multiple seals.

Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a Command-Trac dual-range transfer case, both of which were removed and serviced with new input and output shaft seals during the refurbishment. Other work performed at that time included performing rust repairs, glass-blasting the underside, applying a POR-15 underbody coating, and replacing the exhaust system.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage.
