300Tdi-Powered 1998 Land Rover Discovery 5-Speed

This 1998 Land Rover Discovery is powered by a 300Tdi turbodiesel inline-four linked with an R380 five-speed manual transmission, both of which were installed after the seller acquired the truck in 2025. It is equipped with a locking center differential and a dual-range transfer case. The truck is finished in Chawton White over Bahama Beige leather upholstery, and equipment includes an ARB front bumper, a 2″ lift kit, 16″ Defender 110 steel wheels, dual sunroofs, heated power-adjustable front seats, a cassette stereo, and air conditioning. Additional work performed under current ownership included repairing rust, blending the paintwork, and replacing braking and interior components. This Discovery is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, spare parts, original wheels, service records, and a Florida title in the seller’s name.

The truck is finished in Chawton White, and the seller reports that the hood, roof, and front fenders were repainted and blended to correct paint imperfections and rust in the right-front engine bay wheel well. Exterior features include an ARB front bumper, fog lights, roof rails, and alpine windows. The dual sunroofs were resealed during current ownership, and the windshield and moldings were replaced.

White 16×7″ steel wheels are mounted with 235/85 Cooper Discoverer A/T3 tires, and a matching spare is mounted to the swing-out tailgate. The suspension features a 2″ lift with Terrafirma shocks. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs. Under current ownership, the brake booster was rebuilt, and the brake pads and rear calipers were replaced. The wheel wells were also treated with a Dinitrol undercoating.

The cabin features heated power-adjustable front captain’s chairs and a rear bench upholstered in Bahama Beige leather along with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. The front seat bottoms were repaired with vinyl, and the center console was modified to accommodate the manual transmission shifter. Amenities include a cassette stereo, cruise control, air conditioning, and dual front airbags. The power seat switches and the window switch panel were replaced, and the window and sunroof switches were rebuilt.

The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 135-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 194k miles.

The 300Tdi turbodiesel inline-four was installed in 2025, replacing the factory V8. Modifications include an upgraded turbocharger, a marine-grade fuel pump, and an aluminum intercooler. The injection pump was rebuilt and recalibrated, and the engine was serviced with a DieHard battery. Additional work performed during the engine swap included resealing the oil pan, air conditioning compressor lines, and timing belt cover, as well as replacing the front and rear main seals, main bearings and rod bearings, T-shaped bearing cap seals, and the timing belt.

Power is delivered to all four wheels through an R380 five-speed manual transmission that was installed and rebuilt under current ownership. A locking center differential and a dual-range transfer case are also fitted, and the clutch was replaced.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage.
