fix(html): minify a tag whose attributes carry template syntax - #22166
Conversation
A tag another language wrote its own syntax into reaches the parser with attribute names that repeat, and §13.2.5.33 drops the repeats. The printer answered that by echoing the whole tag, so nothing in it was minified and the same tag written four ways printed four ways. It now rebuilds the tag from the attributes the parse kept and copies the bytes between them from the source, so the template survives untouched while the names fold, the references decode and the quotes go.

…e one (#22167) * build(html): say why each sweep finding is expected, and catch a stale one The invariant sweep reported eight findings a reader had to re-derive every run, so a real divergence would have hidden among them. Each is now stated with its reason and counted apart; an entry matching nothing is reported as stale, since a divergence that is gone must lose its entry or the list stops saying anything true. * style: format the changelog the release generator re-emits `fmt:check` is red on main: the release rewrites CHANGELOG.md from the changesets and nothing runs prettier over what it writes. (by [@hai-x](https://github.com/hai-x) in [#22226](webpack/webpack#22226)) - Match `urlHints` rules written with `and`, `or`, `not` and `glob` conditions; profile hook map taps, such as resolver and parser hooks, in `ProfilingPlugin`; report `import.meta` option errors inside `require.ensure` callbacks, not crash; and replace `any`, `object` and `Function` with precise types in the type definitions. (by [@alexander-akait](https://github.com/alexander-akait) in [#22681](webpack/webpack#22681)) - Reduce CSS and HTML build time and memory allocation. Summary
A tag a template engine wrote into reaches the parser with attribute names that repeat (
{%and%}in<input type="text"{% if required %} required{% endif %}>), and §13.2.5.33 drops the repeats. The printer answered that by echoing the whole tag, so nothing in it was minified and the same tag written four ways printed four ways. It now rebuilds the tag from the attributes the parse kept and copies the bytes between them from the source, so the template survives untouched while the element name folds, the references decode and the quotes go. Use of AI
AI was used, under review: it located the echo path, drafted the change and the tests, and ran the HTML unit suite, the
htmlconfig cases under bothConfigTestCasesandConfigCacheTestCases,test:syntax-equivalence, and the printer invariant sweep (node tooling/compare-html-tools.js --invariants) over its 361 documents.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
